Portland Real Estate Multiple Master Bedroom Suites
My friends over the years have joked that we should buy a house where we could all have our own master bedroom suite, have one main central living area, and share in the cost to purchase and maintain the home. Pretty much like the Golden Girls on T.V. did.
It isn’t such a far-fetched idea as at one time I had a house listed that was a Portland one-level with 6 master bedroom suites. All six bedrooms had their own private baths. It was only a couple blocks to the bus and close to shopping and Portland.
I showed a house the other day that was similar. It had 4 master bedrooms and 4 baths. The lower level had completely separate living quarters with a kitchen and another bedroom and bath.
Multiple Master Bedroom Suites
There have been homes I’ve seen similar to this over the years I’ve been selling real estate. There are Portland homes that have multiple master bedrooms suites with full baths and many are one-level living with main floor bedrooms and baths.
This is perhaps one senior housing option that isn’t being considered by Portland real estate builders, developers or homebuyers, i.e. homes with multiple master bedroom suites.
Recently, I read an article where a family did something similar. There was a woman who’s mother was in an assisted living home. The mother wasn’t being properly cared for so the daughter purchased a home similar to the Portland one-level with 6 bedrooms I mentioned above. She gathered her friends who also had elderly parents and purchased a one-level where they all had private master bedrooms with baths. All the women are now living under one roof and are being taken care of like family.
